Beth, a Pittsburgh native, is a versatile freelance saxophonist.  After falling in love with the saxophone in 4th grade, her arsenal expanded to clarinet, soprano saxophone, and flute while in high school.  As a music education major at Slippery Rock University she studied saxophone with Terry Steele and Jeremy Long.  During this time she had the privilege of performing with the Slippery Rock Jazz Ensemble at the Montreux and North Sea Jazz Festivals, in addition to recording a CD with the group.  Freelance opportunities came her way with the lead alto chair in the Wayne Macuga Big Band and tenor saxophone with the Wally Gingers Orchestra and WCCC Stage Band.

Following graduate studies at the University of Miami, she moved to Erie and has been an integral part of the western Pennsylvania music scene ever since, performing with the Trinity Music Group Big Band, Misery Bay Big Band, Presque Isle Jazz Orchestra, and a myriad of other groups.  She has toured with Tennessee Backporch during their Follow the Star Christmas show and can be heard on their third CD.  Beth was featured in an article in the Erie Times News in 2018, “Finding Harmony in Erie,” which focuses on female musicians in Erie.  2019 brought an opportunity to be the guest soloist with the Mercyhurst Jazz Ensemble.  She has made appearances at the Blues & Jazz Festival working with various ensembles.  Beth continues to grow as a musician through dedicated practice, transcribing, learning new instruments, and teaching.
